Hello everyone,
I just completed a full cycle of glen's 5x5 routine and was pretty impressed with the strength gains i made. However, despite making sure i was in caloric excess throughout the routine (and my strength gains were good), I don't feel like my size gains are as great as they have been on other periodized, higher rep routines. On top of this, even though my weights and body weight have gone up, i don't feel as 'full' as i have done in the past..
I really enjoy the format of this 5x5 routine, my question is, would the routine still work in a 3x8 straight sets and 1x8 ramped sets format? And would this result in a routine geared more towards hypertrophy than strength or would the higher intensity of a 5x5 ultimately be more beneficial for hypertrophy?
Thanks for your help!:)
