Is this video a good guide for teaching RDL
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnBREGM7pE0
i will add this excercise into my program and would like to know if this guide worth following.
I plan on useing my lats to keep the bar close to my body(wich isnt mentioned) as in snatch/clj
but other then that are there any other cues i should focus on?
thanks

This video by Greg Everett shows good form. Personally I like touching the ground he doesn't but maybe thats what works for him

Notice how close the bar is to his legs practically brushing the whole time.

The big one with lowering on this or any deadlift is keeping your knees back till after the bar passes.

Not sure a study exists. It may make more sense to look for a RDL to DL ratio as the 2 are similar. What kind of squat? Low bar or high bar may make a difference.
It would be difficult to know an ideal ratio because of the fact with RDL you dont max out or even go near a max out(at least I dont)
Ironically I'm going to the gym today to do back squats then RDL's weird lol.

High bar back squat or either of the lifts ,Snatch C+J . I think the Russians had a ratio for most excercise's in relation to the snatch , CL+J . However i dont have the charts
thanks for the input

No chart listed RDL' specifically, but it is mentioned to use c&j max. Personally, I had a coach who used 130% of of clean max. Over time I have widdled that down to 110%. Always used straps on these. Now I really don't do them as much as my back takes over. I've always had trouble getting my legs to do the work and I have tried using light weights. I know some are thinking that's the problem. Although I was never as strong as I was when I had my original coach. Wish he was still around!
