View Full Version : Slow, tight, no activation training days

Hello,

for the past few weeks I've really been struggling with my training. More often than not I am really slow, pretty tight and have really bad activation (for example: when I try to jump as high as possible it feels like I barely leave the ground). This has been mostly affecting explosive lifts and not so much strength lifts. Even with the weights that feel very light coming from the ground I barely (if even) make the lift.

It's really bothering me because I feel that there is so much more that I can lift but I am just soooo slow and lazy like.

If you have any suggestions how to get over this I would really appreciate it.

Thanks!

Are you eating and resting enough? Any medical issues? (Even something as minor as a cold can really slow you down.)

Has anything changed in the last few weeks? For instance, did you start doing lots of additional conditioning, or stop doing a mobility routine? Change in work or sleep schedule?

Katherine

I thought about it and yes, there were some minor changes in the past few weeks: I am getting a tad less sleep (still enough, just not overdoing it like before), I started working (mentally and physically very undemanding, just a few hours per day).

I am eating enough and there are no medical issues.

All of this has started after taking almost a whole week off (just two training sessions) because I was absolutely exhausted from my sessions for more than a week (still made some great PR's while my body was shaking and I felt like I was going to drop unconscious).

So maybe I am just getting back into it... Anyway- next week is a deload.

Thanks for the answer :)

Magnesium deficit, developed over time? I think I experienced this, culminating in a strained back muscle. Just a thought.
