I've been wrapping a long tube sock around my left wrist, and it has been working well for bracing my wrist, which has ached a bit on the back side- mostly during jerks, or during cleans if I'm not warm enough.

I'm guessing I won't be allowed to have a sock wrapped around my wrist during a meet. Can someone recommend a wrap that can be had at a sporting goods store, that will be allowed at a meet. I guess I just don't know what is allowed.

I tried on a neoprene type deal that had a velcro wrap over, which was ok, but the big plastic buckle felt like it would press in, regardless of where I positioned it. I have short forearms and fairly small wrists, so I think something without hardware would be best.

Thanks, and sorry for all the novice questions.

I've had some success w/boxing wraps. Now, you will need to cut them in half as they are designed to go around the hand and wrist, but they seem to be of the correct material for proper support. Check at the local sporting goods store near the boxing stuff.

If you want real basic light support, I would go with the Gold's wrist wraps at Walmart, they sell for less than $5 a pair. I go through them about every 4 mos, but they work well. You can get something a little better at sporting goods stores, a 12" wrist wrap.

I've never used the boxing wraps (too much work to get them ready to wear) because I'm too lazy. :D
