This is an explanation of how to alter the basic beginners program to allow for individual differences.

Do you recommend the same amount of reps as you do in the beginner program?

No matter how you have to individualize, I recomend keeping the reps at 3 or below, and concentrating on singles and doubles.

Thank you SO MUCH. I'm currently using your beginner's template for the entirety of my strength training, and I'm loving it so far. Of course, I'm only on the second week of it, but I'm really enjoying it. Thank you for adding even more information.

You mention if an athlete is ready for 4 days a week the program would need to change. In what ways would you change the program for the more advanced lifter?

Thanks in advance

Adding workouts is the "transition" to the intermediate program... Which is the subject of a future article.

Getting the correct positioning for the lifts is essential for successful lifting. Glenn's OL videos on his Cal Strength site teach this skill. It is a wonderful progression- simple and easy to follow. The articles and video will get you up and lifting. Or if your like me, help you reboot and improve your skills.

Glenn, do you have any OL seminars coming up in the Bay area?

Many thanks,
Tom

Glenn, I discussed the idea of a seminar with my boss and he is very interested. Our company is located in San Jose. We have a home CrossFit facility and also provide fitness services to several corporate clients. Many of our members and also friends from other south bay CrossFits are interested in improving their OL. We would be very interested in hosting. Who should I contact for more information?

Thanks, Tom

PS My boss loves your OL videos.

Tom, if you can email me at glennpendlay@muscledriverusa.com it would be great, Eric usually does the details, but, if you get me an email of who what and when, I will find a date that is open, then we can forward it to eric and finalize it. Most of my seminars are on the east coast, will be nice to do one here!!!

also i have to say i apologize for the delay in responding. I simply did not see this post. In my defense I was very, very sick for about 3 weeks. I believe I went 15 or 16 days without eating anything that didtn get immedietly thrown back up, and without being able to get out of bed without holding on to the walls. but, no matter, it is what it is. hope to hear back from you, hope to figure out a plan.

I have contacted Eric and he sent me the information. We are currently trying to pin down a date, hopefully in March or Apirl.

It's been a pretty sick winter for just about everyone. May 2011 bring better health to us all.

Recieved your OL video recently and it excells beyond expectations. The sound and picture is as good as the information. I will write up a nice review and post it at amazon, dave draper and other sites.

Stay well.
