Here's the last set of 3 POS snatch @ 70%
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ytYS_9OXAY

It was noted that the first one from the high hang was the best and perhaps I am accelerating the reps from the knee and floor too soon - less velocity and snap from accelerating too soon?

Here's the 4th single @ 85% on the c & j:

Is my starting position ok - do I need to be 'over the bar' more with my shoulders? Hips rising too fast?

Now the jerk, while this rep felt 'in the groove' and felt good, upon watching the video, it seems that my front foot needs to be faster and go farther out. I think my dip and drive is getting better - but not sure if it is what it is supposed to be.

The snatches I think look great. (caveat emptor: this is coming from my very untrained only-been-lifting-for-2-months eye).

The clean, it looks like you pull off the floor fast, slow down to get it around your knees, and then re-accelerate for the 2nd pull. You're right about the jerk, cutting the split short.

snatch is pretty good.

clean is not terrible, but, you are slowing down above the knee to find the second pull position. Need to do more lifts from just below the knee. Good call Christine.

Jerk is not great, need to have front shin vertical when you split. Step out more with the front foot.

Christine/Glenn,

Thanks for the observations!

Gave these some attention in today's practice (though my first cold of the new school year has me felling horrible.)

Did some overhead squats after snatching to get my bottom position solidified.

Marked off the floor to practice my jerk footwork.

Did my jerks from below the knee.

Hopefully the sinus pressure/sore throat will subside soon...
