Hi! I am new to this forum and O-lifting.
Last weekend was one of the best days of my life. Glenn and Jon came to my gym, Ultimate CrossFit for an O-lifting clinic! I learned so much, had a great time, and I loved watching Jon lift gazillion pounds!
So, to keep this introduction short... I am partially on my way to ditching CrossFit for Olifting..... I love love love O-lifts!!
Here is my first video of the snatch.
I kept the weight at 70% of my max at 75#.
this is like the 7th min of doing 1 snatch per min on the minute for 20 min

I appreciate any and all feedback!!

Well if that is your first attempt at snatching then it looks like you have some talent :).

Thanks for the comment, Leighton!
This isn't the first time I'm snatching... but it is my first video on this forum :)
I've been practicing on my own with very little instructions for about 6 months now.

I believe I remember telling you that you had talent last weekend! Pretty nice vid. Make sure you sink the catch all the way to the bottom. Why dont you consider a workout log on this site, id love to hear how you are doing...

Thank you, Glenn!!! I'll work on that squat.
Since the clinic, I've started o-lifting three times/week, with an additional lifting day to do deadlifts and presses and 1 day of crossfit. For the O-lifts, I'm just doing what you said and doing up to 20 min of light-ish snatches/c&j on the min. I'll do that for couple of weeks until I get more comfortable with the movement. Should I go up in weight at all? or stick with 70% of my max?
I'll start a log here and upload videos from time to time :)
I really really really appreciate the coaching and allowing me to be part of this forum!!!!!

add weight till you get inconsistent with your form, then back it down to the highest weight where you CAN be consistent with your form...
go slowly... there is no hurry.

6 months? I've been trying for over 18 months and I've gotten nowhere. Great work Mie!
